This report tries to answer the question of how the introduction of large volumes of wind power will affect prerequisites for planning and operation of the electricity system. The report also looks at the role the system operator should take.
The report especially focuses on the conditions and consequences for cross-border trading in the event of a large scale deployment of wind power in Sweden but discusses other aspects of system design like regulatory issues and balance settlement. Reasoning and examples are based on the present market design and possible changes to it.
The report is one of three final reports presented by the project Requirements of increased customer flexibility and large volumes of wind power.
