The integration of the Nordic electricity market is an ongoing process. The history of regional cooperation in the Nordic area is long and since the creation of Nord Pool the wholesale market has gradually become more and more integrated. Even though there are still possibilities to integrate the wholesale market, this process is already very advanced. The retail market is however much less integrated. Integration of the retail market in the Nordic area is high on the political agenda.
The purpose of this report is to study the regulations and costs related to a harmonised and integrated Nordic retail market for electricity and to provide a road map for a possible way forward.
